The Zoo...AGAIN

Today we went to the ZOO! We went to the one that is close to our house, The Smithsonian National Zoo. Mommy heard that the new America Trail was open (finally) and she wanted to take Ali and me to see the seals and sea lions. It was kind of a last minute decision. Then this morning, Mommy remembered that Grandpa RETIRED, so she called him and asked him if he wanted to come too. He said YES! We left the house around 10 AM and were at the zoo by 10:30 AM. We even got to park in the first parking lot (parking lot A)!

 

Mommy was so excited. She has been wanting to take us to the entrance and take pictures at the big zoo sign. Usually this is difficult to do because it is way at the top of the hill and we have no energy to go there. So, as soon as we got into the zoo, we went up to the big zoo sign. Mommy got some good pictures.

Then we were on our way to see the Giant Pandas. Before Ali was born, Mommy took me to the zoo one day in the summer and she took my picture on this rock. She wanted to take a picture of me and Ali on the same rock.

I love my brother! 

This was the best picture Mommy could get because Ali and I were very hungry and were sharing this apple.

Finally, we made it! I had to sit down and take a rest. It was HOT out.

After the Asia Trail, we went over to the Bird House. We like to see the birds outside of the Bird House, but never went in. This time we went inside the bird house. We saw lots of birds. We love to walk over to the big Bald Eagle statue and take a rest and play a little. Mommy also likes to take our picture there! She got some good ones this time.

 

 

Finally, we were off to the America Trail to see the seals and sea lions! They have a great new habitat. Right in front of their habitat was a little fountain area where kids could cool off. Since it was such a HOT day, Ali and I needed to cool off!



Last, we went to see the gorillas, lions, and eat some ice cream! On our way there we saw this orangutan climbing on the O-Line!

 

It was a SUCCESSFUL day at the zoo!
