Yesterday, was Potomac Day. It was a big celebration and parade to celebrate our city. We are lucky that we live within walking distance of the parade and festivities because lots of roads were closed, including the main road. Mommy has been wanting to go to Potomac Day since we moved here, but we've always been busy on that day. This year, we weren't! Daddy had golf lessons in the morning, so Mommy, Ali and I walked over to where the parade was. After Daddy's golf lessons, he met us at all the festivities.
I really enjoyed the parade! Every group that walked by threw out candy for us!
Olivia was there!
So was Curious George! He stopped to wave to me!
The MyGym that Ali and I go to was there also. I was a little bit shy when the monkey came to give me five. That is also Ms. Asma, Ali's teacher!
Ali enjoyed the parade too and also enjoyed the candy!
I was really, really excited to see the tooth fairy!
Then came Ali's favorite part, the ambulances and fire trucks! He loved them so much! When they turned on their sirens and flashed their lights, we laughed and smiled so big!
There were lots of them!
I love lollipops!
Ali watched ALL the firetrucks!
There was also lots of other things to do after the parade was over. There were some rides and inflatable bouncy houses and slides.
First we went on this little airplane ride.
It was fun, but went kind of slow. I waved for Mommy anyway.
Then, I wanted to go on this giant slide! Mommy thought it was a little high, but she let me go anyway. It was a long climb to the top.
And a long slide to the bottom. I went on this slide twice!
By this time, Daddy had made it to the festival and helped me and Ali on this swing ride. We got to ride together.
This ride was more our speed, fast!
I took a shot at climbing this tropical island while Daddy took Ali to see the vintage cars.
Then we found the petting zoo.
Ali liked hanging out by the ducks. He stayed with them for a long time.
I went for a pony ride.
Don't I look like a natural?
I also went for a ride on the swinging ship! I loved this ride too!
We had a great time at Potomac Day and we are looking forward to next year!
